514290 2007-01-09 19:25:00 Hi everyone I am new to this forum.
anyways....

I keep getting this error message if I try and play like real budget games..but recently I got broadband (AT LAST) and I am trying to install the USB driver for the modem so I can use my ethernet port for my xbox360.
and everytime I click on the setup for the driver this error message comes up like it has in the past when trying to play some bodget kinda games.

16 bit windos subsystem
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt
The system is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.

please any help would be great

thanks heaps

514291 2007-01-09 20:13:00 Welcome to PressF1 :)

If you are running a 64-bit processor based computer, then no doubt you can't install 16-bit applications as they are not supported by the machine - hence the error message. In another words, 16-bit applications are not backward-compatible with 64-bit computers.

Cheers :)

514293 2007-01-09 21:57:00 Do a search for autoexec.nt making sure to search in hidden and system folders.
You should find at least one in C:\Windows\repair and maybe another one in c:\windows\system32.
What you need to do is copy the one from the repair folder into the system32 folder.

Note: Your windows folder could be called something else like winnt

514294 2007-01-09 22:04:00 I would suggest you to get an Ethernet Network card for the ADSL router. Using USB for the ADSL is not as ideal as using Ethernet connection especially if you want to connect a second PC to share your Internet connection.

It's pretty cheap to get a NIC.

It sounds like they have a basic ADSL router with one USB port and one Ethernet port. They want to use the ethernet port for the Xbox and so have to use USB on the PC.
