514288 2007-01-09 19:22:00 I recently got a Belkin F5D7231-4 Wireless router.

Im having issuies with my computer like .exes dont run. I have to go into choose program from list and then it works.

So I put in my Easy install wizard disk choose program from disk and ran it. I got to Detecting connection to router and it didnt work. So i opened up the manual and read the alternate process. I got it set up then i hooked in my xbox and tried to get on live. I have one computer and one xbox wired to the router. I got onto xbox live then i wanted to use the computer at the same time. I tried getting on and no connection at all to my computer. I called tech support XBOX and Belkin and i found out that i had the same ip for my xbox as my computer. So i tried changing my computer ip by going into properties of TCP/IP.
I restart my computer and found that my ip was the same as before. So i went over to my friends house and made his ip the first ip because my xbox takes the first ip ex. Xbox ip 192.168.2.2 his computer 192.168.2.2 my computer 192.168.2.3. Then i made my xbox ip 192.168.2.7. I added my xbox ip to the DMZ, Disabled my firewall and opend ports 88 UDP and 3074 UDP and TCP. Now when i try to get on xbox live and the computer the computer is really slow then if i start using an online program or listen to music i Get kicked off of XBOX live.

Also on the DHCP Client list i dont see my xbox's ip.

Sorry for writing such a long question but i really need help. Ive called Belkin about 10 times total of about 3 hours and xbox 3 times total of like 1.5 hours. Im so frustrated. I Also tested the router at my firends house he had no problem at all playing xbox live and using the computer at the same time. Thanks in advance.

For starters, if you have manually assigned IP's to the machines then your router shouldn't be set to using DHCP.

Regarding the executable files not running, have you done a thorough scan for viruses and other malware?

What operating system are you using?
