515709 2007-01-14 03:22:00 I've just realised that this is the first computer I've bought that didn't come with the opertating system cd.
Is this the way it's done now or should I find out why I didn't get one with my laptop.
I realised this when installing some software and it said I may be asked to put in my windows cd.

515711 2007-01-14 03:36:00 The install files will be on a hidden partition on your HD, Check through your start>menu and see if there is an option to burn off the install files in the form of recovery CD's,it may save a lot of money in the future. Metla (12)

Not lazy just making more money, the beancounters probably told them they could save a few cents per unit....:2cents:

515715 2007-01-14 09:32:00 Call up MS. Tell them politely that you have a new lappy and need a new set of disks. Otherwise ask for a refund since you dont have a copy of the disk. bob_doe_nz (92)
515716 2007-01-14 21:29:00 Okay thanks for all the advice guys. I have another question regarding the battery and power point usage which I'll put up in another thread in a minute. Strummer (8836)
