| 515768 | 2007-01-15 20:31:00 | Actually its kinda the reverse. When you type in www.pressf1.co.nz, it goes to the DNS server and asks for its IP Address, in pressf1's case its 210.48.100.45. This is so that a machine can be relocated, change ISPs perhaps, a website might get a new host, and it can still be found. Besides, aside from me, I dont know how many people remember PressF1 as being: 210.48.100.45, makes things heaps harder to remember ;) If you get bored, Wikipedia has a nice long article on it, worth a read: en.wikipedia.org |
