| 515757 | 2007-01-14 12:58:00 | i have a D-link DSL-G604T(=4 port router+wifi+adsl modem) and have had no problems with it whatsoever i didn't even open the box to the free usb one "worth $99" i sold it on trademe, for $30 nz broadband isdisgusting really, we pay for a service that has no guarantee of even being provided:you wouldn't pay a plumber if he didn't even turn up would you? also, what people use their internet connection for is their business; they pay for it, so unless you're opting to pay the bill for them i'm sorry but you can't ***** and whinge I DEMAND FIBER OPTIC!!! (but don't want to pay for it:annoyed:) |

| 515758 | 2007-01-14 19:08:00 | Is anyone else sick, like me, of these boys' temper tantrums because they cannot play their fancy computer games? :annoyed: In the overall scheme of things, is it really important that they get streaming video or whatever else it is that turns them on? Why don't they use their spare time to do something constructive, rather than waste their time away playing games? :stare: I download about 100 Mb of data per day (by ftp) from various sites and upload about 10 Mb to my website. If things are a bit slow, I go play with the cat or make myself a cup of coffee. What's the big deal? I am a gamer :p But I don't do that, if I can't get what I want working, I like to try and fix it myself before asking or getting upset (which I don't cause I like to resolve a problem, it is more fun that way rather than getting upset about it) And I also do a lot of other constructive things... currently I am looking for a job in the IT industry, I am setting up my own web/local file server for no real reason other than learning how to! for example. I also agree, if it is taking a while, go and do something else instead of counting the %age it is at... Currently trying to download the same file at 22-37 KB/s which I hear is quite common since unleashing ;( Well yes, everyone on Go Large gets those international speeds (I am guessing that is an international file) try a download manager with multilpe connections, that should speed it up a bit |

| 515760 | 2007-01-14 21:27:00 | Howdy Indeed it is international. These days I just set the PC to download then go do something else for an hour or two. 'Sigh' gone are the good old days of downloading at 130-170 KB/s and getting the files in 15-20 min. What download managers would you reccommend? Cheers Ravage |

ONLY on Go Large are these days gone, any other plan is fine AFAIK... I use Getright, it is good, but it bugs you with a popup asking to buy the full version every now and then, I just put up with it... But have a look at the ones in the FAQ F1 (faqf1.net.nz) |

Having a look at true downloader now cheers Ravage |

| 515764 | 2007-01-15 06:26:00 | >Lightning speed internet? You should really see some online gamers online especially hardcore players. If their internet speed is not up to date they're doom they'll lose online points. Gaming? I like the Need for Speed Most Wanted a lot but no luck with Europeans/ American racers because of slow NZ internet. Those are noobs but some are pro. :illogical Maybe they should take you on. Message to chill and others: I think I set my DNS server to 201.. something and 202. for secondary DNS server so I need to set it to 202. and 202. something? |

| 515765 | 2007-01-15 12:47:00 | Pretty much you need to go Start --> Control Panel --> Network Connections --> Local Area Connection Properties (by right-clicking) --> TCP / IP Properties --> Use the following DNS Server addresses Then put in: 60.234.1.1 60.234.2.2 See how you go! I know a friend has just done it and found it worked BRILLIANTLY! Let us know :) |
