| 515362 | 2007-01-13 22:51:00 | Im currently trying to setup a wireless routerd-link dl-524 with my existing modem/router(d-link rta1320). I am a slingshot customer I openened my web browser (as per instructions) and typed http://192.168.0.1, got the log on pop-up screen and could not go further. Backtracked a dozen times plus yesterday and today but never got to first step once. Whats happening? I have run out of ideas. Thanks Are you connecting to the existing router by mistake? It may be that both routers are on the same IP address? Have you tried pluging straight into the wireless router, without the existing router connected? Do not forget to power cycle the wireless router before connecting the PC to it. |

| 515363 | 2007-01-14 06:01:00 | Hi fabs, welcome to PressF1! I would connect to it via LAN, and not Wireless. This is always recommended for setting up Wireless routers, although after you've done a few you'll be confident enough to do it via a Wireless card. Are you statically assigning an IP address or using DHCP? Expanding a little from UghNZ, I would disconnect your PC from the wired network while setting up the wireless router, just to avoid confusion. Cheers Chill. |
