| 515727 | 2007-01-14 05:11:00 | *** with Xtra Go Sh*t Plan Today? So slow, when loading International web pages. Can't open cn.yahoo.com too and take ages to load. Does anyone knows what's the problem? Or my D-Link Sh*tty router needs a replacement from D-Sh*t? I always need to restart the Router to able to load local pages and can't load Other countries pages at all. Sorry, just in a bad day can't open some of my favorite web pages. |

I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing problems with Xtra, but I've been sick of their speeds when using other people's internet who are with them, they seem to be the slowest I've encountered, probably because they've got more people than they can handle. Have you considered switching? Woosh's ADSL is priced the same as Xtra (probably more benefits too) and you don't need to worry about changing tolls, they seem like a worthwhile move, I've been considering moving to them too, but it's just a hassle and I can't really afford downtime, though if my ISP does give me downtime, that should be enough time to call Woosh and set a date for the change over. I am sure there are more important things to complain about, than the speed of your personal computers internet connection, If you have an issue with your provider, you should be complaining to them and not here. Why not get out in the sun. |

I know that I had issues on Ihug that were resolved by switching to Orcons nice shiney new DNS servers: Primary: 60.234.1.1 Secondary: 60.234.2.2 Give it a shot, see how you go, post the results. You may be pleasantly surprised :) Also: the dsl-302g routers are absolute budget to say the least! Just got rid of mine about a week ago (which I was given after my Conexant EpicRouter died) and switched to a Dynalink RTA1230. Immediately I can port-forward so torrents are back at decent speeds (Im currently getting the latest Gentoo Install LiveCD so watch this space for me to release a Gentoo-based distro soon), I no longer get randomly cut-off etc and overall Im just a happy camper again :) Lastly: I understand your frustration, but try and keep the profanity levels to a minimum. Believe me, Ive been in your shoes... a better way to vent is to get it resolved then run around your house screaming "IVE DONE IT, ITS WORKING, ITS AWESOME" ;) |

Why not get out in the sun. Complaining? I did complain to them(like some Indian who have no idea what am I talking about) , I just wanted to see if anyone using Xtra have this problem. Switching? I think it was a year contract again. These days, with Xtra they have 15GB, 30GB plan etc. But they don't have 64k speed slow down but they charged you like $0.02 per MB which I hate because my bill could come out to hundreds when overuse. |

| 515735 | 2007-01-14 06:48:00 | Is anyone else sick, like me, of these boys' temper tantrums because they cannot play their fancy computer games? :annoyed: In the overall scheme of things, is it really important that they get streaming video or whatever else it is that turns them on? Why don't they use their spare time to do something constructive, rather than waste their time away playing games? :stare: I download about 100 Mb of data per day (by ftp) from various sites and upload about 10 Mb to my website. If things are a bit slow, I go play with the cat or make myself a cup of coffee. What's the big deal? People should get upset about things that a REALLY important like the woeful state of Black Caps' batting :groan: or how the Crusaders are going to cope without their All Blacks. :( |
