| 515416 | 2007-01-13 07:28:00 | I believe a DX10 Video Card will cost around NZD1,000. I don't intend to invest so much on a card. You can wait until the prices drop. | msnforum (11610) | ||
| 515417 | 2007-01-13 07:33:00 | Eventully they will be availble from $80 upwards, the same way dx9 cards are now. Not that an $80 card will set your eyeballs on fire. |

| 515418 | 2007-01-13 08:54:00 | Mid range DX 10 graphics cards are coming in the 2Q . =MARCH/APRIL:D (From what I have seen on the net) You can do a google search and find out more yourself . :D Personally I would wait for ATI to bring out their DX 10 cards,even if you don't want an ATI card they will bring the Nvidia cards down in price as their will be competition between the two companies . I think ATI are releasing their DX 10 cards in feb . ,but do a google to check on that as well . :2cents: check out www . pricespy . co . nz for prices on the 8800gts . So that gives you some more time to save for a DX 10 graphic card . :D |

Can play all games except FSX at full everything and really high res. Something I have never been able to to on my 6800Ultra. Quake4, Oblivion, Lara Croft, Hitman, and all the FPS games I have all go like the clappers now. |

Your a happy gamer then:thumbs: I want to get a DX10 card BUT I think I will try and wait for them to be cheaper and non reference ones to come out as well from the different graphic card manufacturers,instead of the stock standard ones out at the moment . I dont need to get one as my 1900xt 512mb plays all games on full everything as well and I have 2gb of ram and a 170 Opty . as well!!:thumbs: I can wait for the 2nd generation of the DX 10 cards to come out I think . :) However you know what some spare cash and temptation is like!!!:D |

| 515421 | 2007-01-13 14:06:00 | NEWS FLASH News : GPUs & Graphic Cards : Cheaper GeForce 8800 Cards In Mid Feb VR-Zone has learned that NVIDIA will release cheaper GeForce 8800 cards next month to increase pressure on current ATi X1950 lineup targeting at X1950XT 256MB mainly. The new cards will based on the same 8800GTS GPU (96 unified, 24 texture processors and 20 ROPs). It has the same core and memory clock speeds but half the memory size of the current 8800GTS cards. The card will still be known as GeForce 8800GTS but comes with 320MB GDDR3 memories in 10 x 8M*32 array so the memory bus width remains unchanged at 320bit. The card length is the same as the current 8800GTS card at 9 inches and it is still a dual slot. The performance is close to the current 8800GTS 640M but it is US$100 cheaper. Does a price tag of US$299 sounds good to you? Source: VR-Zone Full Article Posted on January 11, 2007, 12:30 pm |

There are two versions; a 12" for OEMs and a 9" for the end users. No info as yet on their differences. According to INQ, AMD wont let ATI release the new chip without being able to ship it in volumes so that lead to some delay. Source: VR-Zone Full Article Posted on January 9, 2007, 11:12 pm |

| 515424 | 2007-01-13 14:44:00 | NEWS FLASH From the inquirer R600 driver takes shape DirectX 10 countdown begins By Fuad Abazovic in the Bosnian wilds: Tuesday 02 January 2007, 17:13 THE DIRECTX 10 Vista driver for R600 is almost done. Those DAAMIT chaps are polishing it as we speak. We know that ATI is still trying to finish up Crossfire support and to polish up the OpenGL performance in Vista driver but the driver will be ready for hardware launch. Some other details are around which we cannot yet confirm. What we know is that the chip is 80 nanometre, has a 512-bit memory controller, unified Shader marchitecture, supports DirectX 10 and should make G80 run for its money. The launch should take place in February, late according to our usually very well-informed sources but this is also a date that has been moved around more than a few times. It sure is late but it will make Nvidia speed up its G80. The overclocked versions will flood the market starting January. |
