515159 2007-01-12 05:47:00 I have a friend running W98 and I suggested she buy a flashdrive (!!!) the computer doesn't recognise this and wants a driver. Has anyone run one of the flashdrives with W98 is does this fall into the too hard basket? Bryden (4161)
515160 2007-01-12 05:51:00 Go to the website pertaining to the FlashDrive, will have it written on the box it came in somewhere, probably, and download the Win 98 driver. zqwerty (97)
515161 2007-01-12 05:55:00 Here's the support page (www.dse.co.nz/cgi-bin/dse.filereader?45a71fa100fbe474273fc0a87f330715+EN/catalogs/SUPXH8250_1_2) for some sold by DSE. If you haven't one of these models, have a look at the "more..." of the page of the actual one, looking for Support. Graham L (2)
515162 2007-01-12 06:20:00 They work ok with Win98SE. The DSE Micro Drives come boxed with an instruction booklet and with a CD having the Win98SE drivers, also Open Office and ZoneAlarm. Terry Porritt (14)
515163 2007-01-12 07:17:00 This flashdrive didn't come boxed... it is just in the usual plastic (impossible to open) packaging.... No instructions, CD etc.

I will have a look on the DSE site for a driver.....

515164 2007-01-12 07:30:00 What is the name of the flashdrive?

Is the USB port on the computer working correctly with other USB devices?

Just so as you don't run into this problem later when the drivers are found.

What a pain, looks like DSE is cutting costs, this is what they used to be like:

515166 2007-01-12 07:52:00 Most flash drives are USB2 now and sometimes don't work with older USB1.1 MB mikebartnz (21)
515167 2007-01-12 08:58:00 The link is on this page but seems to be only for Win98SE/ME/2K/XP, but I would try it anyway:

www.dse.co.nz

Here is the page I got it from:

515168 2007-01-12 10:10:00 Someone pointed out these (www.technical-assistance.co.uk) generic USB drivers for Windows 98(SE) some time ago on the forum. If you get stuck finding official drivers, they may work for you. Jen (38)
