516043 2007-01-15 05:03:00 Ah, but currently their home line charges are cheaper than Telecoms anyway (for my ISP at least). Seeing the Telecom price differences dependant upon local competition just gives you that added encouragement to reconsider who has your phone line service. Jen (38)
516044 2007-01-15 05:14:00 Excellent service from dialup? What do you send a Xmas card to Gattung every year!?

I am still trying to get f***ing broadband from those stingy bastards...

EVERY SINGLE grey box around my area has been upgraded, one road even got a brand new one and they won't upgrade the box that i'm on. I'm talking every single box in my area.

And they moan "It'll cost $50,000 to upgrade." They posted a freaking $199 million profit for ONE QUARTER!!! W.T.F!?

I hate them... its cos they know I'm Telescum, and they don't want me to have high speed broadband to update my site...

I have no where to do it now, no school, work blocks Cpanel's port 2082, and I swear dialup gets sh*ttier every f**king month...

I hate them.. I can't even be bothered fighting them anymore because you get NOWHERE.

*sigh* EMP anyone...? Technological destruction... f**cking Telecom.. f**king government... f**king capitalism...

i'm gonna be in trouble for this post................

516047 2007-01-15 05:21:00 Nice to see such satisfied customers Graham ?

Telecom have kindly given me about $200 in the last couple of months.

That could have gone to hamstars upgrade - but didn't...

516048 2007-01-15 05:23:00 Skype on broadband anyone. Telecom would be loving that! The only thing of course is that they are not doing themselves any favours by unnecessarily putting their line charges up because as soon as the unbundling law gets passed any existing Telecom customer with half a brain is going to jump ship where ever possible. I think their ads are great except for that ugly looking Ojo phone, but the rest is rubbish. winmacguy (3367)
516049 2007-01-15 05:24:00 Telecom have kindly given me about $200 in the last couple of months.Which after using to send the Mods revised Xmas gifts I see your "godfather" account is no longer being held hostage. :p Jen (38)
516050 2007-01-15 06:18:00 what gets my goat up is that they charge there customers a cheaper rate where there is competition(telstra cable) and where there is not there is no discount plod (107)
516051 2007-01-15 08:17:00 See the damage here (blogs.pcworld.co.nz).

They are only increasing their prices in line with inflastion, which is fair enough. Why shouldn't prices go up, if inflation goes up? Their other costs will also be rising, such as wages, materials, and subcontractors, etc, so they have to raise their prices. They are a business, not a charity or public servce.

People don't seem to complain as much when power prices go up, which have gone up at a far higher percentage rate than inflation.

Thats why it is called 'competition'. If this wasn't right, the Commerce Commission would have been all over them. There isn't much differecne these days as Telstra have also hiked their prices, and also charge the same sorts of fees, such as that rip off wire maintenance contract fee.
