517130 2007-01-18 02:39:00 What aree the pratical applications for such a machine.

I believe it has 64MB of ram, with a hard drive that has no more than 2GB of space.

517131 2007-01-18 02:52:00 I think it can be trained to monitor the temperature inside of your house and keep you warm or cool as necessary...with more RAM, you might be able to get it to watch the temperature on your chicken coop too...... SurferJoe46 (51)
517132 2007-01-18 02:56:00 heh. Mirddes (10)
517133 2007-01-18 03:00:00 Linux box

Linux Firewall.

Client for a VNC machine so you can have it on one end of the home and the main comp on the other.

517135 2007-01-18 03:03:00 I already have a linux box (500mhz celeron)
I use monowall for my frewall (150mhz pentium)
i dont think i have a pratical use for VNC.
I was thinking i could use it for a filesever, but i dont have any spare harddrives and im sure the ISA network card would be somewhat limiting.

517136 2007-01-18 03:15:00 Use it as a music server hooked up to your stereo?
A doorstop?
Boat Anchor?
Donate it to The-Ark Computer Program?
Relatives in-need? Gift to kids for basic homework / word processing?

Ive installed Gentoo on less, so if you ever find you have a boring weekend ahead... ;)

517138 2007-01-18 04:31:00 Well with an older O/S on it it would do as an internet box, just don't download much as the teeney drive will be full. pctek (84)
