Anyhow, Ive used dozens if not hundreds of laptops (well, maybe not hundreds and hundreds) and have been able to use all of them perfectly fine in dayliaght. If the glare was an issue I wouldn't have noticed as I would have already adjusted the angle of the screen or the orientation of either the laptop or my backside to compensate, One of the great advantages of lightweight portable devices. |

Well I read that they adjusted for ambient light but I am not sure how well they or any laptop for that matter would work outside under the harsh NZ sun. Or just do what Metla suggests. |

| 516763 | 2007-01-17 10:18:00 | Plenty of sunlight viewable screens around - widely used in marine fishfinders, chartplotters etc. although there's not that many manufacturers around. Panasonic toughbook is the only laptop I know of with one of these. Just asking what's the best of the others. Plenty laptops are viewable in daylight for sure, no need wait for nightfall, but at what light intensities? In my experience I haven't yet come across one yet that's anywhere near the Raytheon, Lowrance, Eagle etc. marine ones (except the {Panasonic TB of course, which is somewhat dated, uncommon, and still highly expensive). |
