Some keys are specific to the 'type' or 'brand' of OEM disc. I know that I had a Dell OEM CD which was just a plain OEM disc, but it couldnt be used with an HP OEM Key :-/ |

| 517516 | 2007-01-19 21:26:00 | gidday, You will probably find the recovery of xp, on a hidden partition, usualy there is a listing on the all programs list, or reboot, and tap F10 cheers, Robby Correct...... If the PB has a floppy disc drive, you should have an recovery floppy disc. Turn off puter, insert floppy then it will uninstall/reinstall your OS from the "hidden partion" A breeze to use |

| 517517 | 2007-01-19 22:18:00 | Thanks Metla and others, will now forget the "other" reload option. As I said, she has no recovery cd's/floppys so will look into the recovery option from the I386 folder. As I said I've tried to make a cd from that folder but no go.It does have a WINNT32.exe in the file and when I dblclick on it it warns me that I have a later version on my pc, and it will be wiped if I go ahead. So that might be the trigger to reinstall windows? |
