We saw the Go Large reference all right, what Telecom helpdesk have been doing is to get people who complain about Go Large to do pointless speed tests, or tell people to re-boot the modem, and so on, when they know full well that it is their traffic management system slowing things down.

They have been following the Gattung system of managing using confusion :)

This happens with Go Large whether or not P2P programs are used, or whether or not any "excessive" download has gone on, this is despite all the hype in their information about Go Large that says only the "naughty boys" are going to be throttled.

Added:
Incidently, the upstream speed will limit the download speed to around the 4Mbps rate or less. Having Max upstream speed will increase download speed.

Another snippet, a rough idea of distance from the exchange in kilometres can be obtained by dividing line attenuation by 13.8.
