I've had a couple where people have moved off us to Go Large and then called us because they've noticed a change in speed not realising that they're no longer on our network because they're still using their Xnet login. I wouldn't suggest any ISP in particular because that would be bad of me on here but unfortunately the only way you're going to know if the speed will increase on another ISP is to change to one, unless you change to another Xtra plan in which case they'll move you off of Go Large and with any luck you'll see a difference. :) |

2007-01-18 07:50:00 | broadband doesnt work like that, GOLARGE is assigned to your line, doesnt matter whos account you log onto you will still be using go large. and my final words are go large is **** and the sooner you switch isps the better. no point trying to fix go large because YOU cant

2007-01-18 09:10:00 | What is the "line rate" shown by your modem? I am on Go Large and have just tested at 1.9Mb/s.

2007-01-18 21:45:00 | What the router says it does not really matter in the real world. I am quoted at 6.4/128 by the router. I am tested at 2/128, Telecom checked lines and said nothing wrong. I am with Xnet FS/128 plan which I purchase a plan of 5.8GB $39.95. Downloading I am getting around 60-80kb/sec by itself or up to 260 with download accelerator. Occasional without DA I managed to get up to 200. If you can get Tesltra then I say get it. Best way is get off the Telecom network. 2nd best way is get off Go Large or any other buffet deals. IMHO I would just pay the $95 and jumpship but some pple may need all those GBs and don't want to pay more but I have no idea how they put up with it ..

2007-01-22 00:08:00 | I'm on go large and I get consitently over 4200kbps, (525 KB/s) down and 130 kbps up. On an overseas download or similar like AVG updates, I get over 350kB/s. I have noticed that on peer to peer apps like Limewire, transfer speeds are crap but Xtra purposely slow that up to cater for fair useage. Overall, I'm happy with the Go Large setup.
