517481 2007-01-19 02:58:00 I have Norton AV Corp. Edition on home PC for the last 2-3 years. I have periodically updated it about once or twice weekly depending on update availability.
Is this AV is still good for today enviroment or should I upgrade to latest version?

Many thanks

517482 2007-01-19 03:11:00 I don't think many people use any version of Symantec AV or Internet Security.

Its a memory hog.

Most people would use AVG, Avast, or one of the other free programs around.

517483 2007-01-19 04:00:00 nope actually the corporate version of Norton AV is great - designed not to be bloat ware it is also better and faster at finding viruses and removing them than with the evil "home user" Norton AV :O
keep it updated and it will last you a lot longer - since its Friday why not run a full scan after you've updated it?

Nope, actually the Corporate is crap too.
I know a few sites that were using it and always had problems with it slowing machines down, not updating all the time without manually doing it and causing some machines to crash.
I changed them over to NOD32 with Remote Administration and network update server and they have been running fine for over a year now.

I really must disagree with you there - Nod32 is king of the antivirus world right now.

517488 2007-01-19 19:19:00 Nod 32 has been king for years - and where is my copy for renewing my PC World subscription?? Twelvevolts (5457)

Check out the cost of a Norton upgrade and compare it to the price of NOD32. Note too that subscribing to PC World will get you NOD32 for a year for free.

517490 2007-01-19 21:38:00 Zone Alarm is simply the best. I use the ZoneAlarm Internet Suite and have been doing so for over a year and I have never had one infection and is quite easy to use as well. And definitely not a memory hog. beeswax34 (63)
