| 517473 | 2007-01-19 01:58:00 | I'm trying to clear out the deleted items for someone that has way too much email (2 gig outlook.pst file) but whenever I try to access the deleted items, outlook locks up. I've ran the inbox repair tool over the pst file & it said there were no errors |

| 517476 | 2007-01-19 05:17:00 | I managed to get it sorted with a lot of stuffing round. Outlook locked up no matter what I did, but I found that I had about 1 minute from opening outlook to it locking up. I created a couple of new pst file to move some of the messages to (took me a few tries before I was quick enough to create them before outlook locked up). I then moved all the emails I could see on screen to the new PST file (outlook would lock up as soon as I tried to scroll down). I repeated this a few times (killing & restarting outlook all the time) until I could work with the email without outlook locking up. At that point, I was able to empty the deleted items (still took about 5 minutes to do that) & now that I have given it new life, no doubt someone will kill it again before too long. |
