517921 2007-01-22 07:56:00 my guess... you proberly have an overly large internet cache, also check the size of IE's index.dat file. tweak'e (69)
517922 2007-01-22 09:03:00 I think I read somewhere Internet cache shouldn't be more than 5% of the hard disk size.
Sound about right? If not, I'll change mine.

517923 2007-01-23 05:42:00 no totally the wrong way to look at it. its got nothing to do with harddrive size. the more you store in the cache the slower it becomes for it to search through it all. if anything harddrive speed is an issue. slower the drive the smaller you should have the cache. also the slower your internet the larger you can make the cache. eg with high speed broadband it can be quicker to download it than to read it off the hardrive. tweak'e (69)
517924 2007-01-23 11:47:00 Open index.dat in notepad after you think you've cleaned your tracks be deleting history, cache and cookies--you'll be surprised.

CoffeeCup Privacy Cleaner will quickly clean out the cache, index.dat, cookies, and a lot of other junk.

By the way, aren't those sites the ones Bill Gates uses to download and archive the contents of your harddrives?
