517623 2007-01-19 23:22:00 oh ok, and btw is there any versions i need to be aware of? or is it just WAG54G? kingping (11473)
517624 2007-01-19 23:29:00 just WAG54G. Dannz (1668)
517625 2007-01-20 02:33:00 AFAIK all you need to support an XBox 360 is an ethernet port, ANY spare ethernet port (provided it is fully functional and connected to the web somehow) will work...

There was a lot of problems with the early versions of the WAG54G (V1) BUT these are solved by the WAG54G V2 which is only being sold now, and supports ADSL 2+ which the WAG54G V1 didn't

517627 2007-01-20 18:47:00 why does everybody say its a modem..... Because it is... a modem is something that you connect to the internet with... what else would it be?

Technically it is an ADSL modem with a 4 port router and wireless, it CAN be called an ADSL router... but that is not the technical name

517628 2007-01-21 00:14:00 ok i see alot of support for the linksys, no one has any support for the USR?

I have the USR 9108, and found it to be excellent. It also allows you to print to a normal USB printer wirelessly without having the computer on, you just connect the printer to the router. This is a very cool feature. I also got a free USB phone with mine bundled with the router, so you can't really go wrong with it.
I have however heard of people who have had major problems with wireless with linksys products, which is why I went for the USR. It also as a range booster if you also use a USR wireless card on the connecting computer.

I have the original V1, not the best. V2 & the new V3 are the best models though the V3 will cost about $250
