517745 2007-01-20 04:17:00 my downstream SNR margin is 9db and my upstream SNR margin is 25db. Someone said to prevent disconnections you need to have at least 10db,but are they talking about downstream or upstream? lance4k (4644)
517746 2007-01-20 20:23:00 SNR Margin
In general, a higher signal to noise ratio will result in less errors.

6bB. or below = Bad and will experience no line synchronisation or intermittent synchronisation problems.
7dB-10dB. = Fair but does not leave much room for variances in conditions.
11dB-20dB. = Good with little or no synchronisation problems
20dB-28dB. = Excellent
29dB. or above = Outstanding

Yours is a bit low.

517747 2007-01-20 20:30:00 Unfortunately since the speed increases and addition of new adsl connections, my SNR margin is up and down during peak time. Luckily very few disconnections. jermsie (6820)
