| 517664 | 2007-01-19 19:35:00 | Mum's computer always behaves slowly when a folder or file is right clicked. It shows the computer is busy, but doesn't do anything, and she has to wait a while for the menu to appear. OS is XP Pro. :badpc: | pcuser42 (130) | ||
| 517665 | 2007-01-19 21:00:00 | Is this when you straight up right-click on the file? What happens if you left-click once to select the file then right-click? Theres a bug that was fix in (I think) SP2, mighta been SP1 though... where basically in XP if you right-click on a file without left-clicking on it first, it'll send your CPU Usage sky-high! Random I know, but Ive tried it on multiple PCs Have you also tried using TweakUI to modify the delay when showing the right-click menus etc? |

| 517666 | 2007-01-19 21:07:00 | It was the original XP Pro with a SP2 update. Two other machines (a physical and virtual) have this setup from the same disc. (It wasn't an OEM version.) Just checked, and it is running faster than it did before. |
