2007-01-24 23:51:00 | Hi Jason. Do you know if you have installed SP2? If you are still not sure, restart your computer and see if the bars that fly across in the boot screen are blue or green. If it is blue, then it is highly likely that it is SP2. Otherwise, the computer probably has only SP1. Cheers :)

2007-01-25 16:13:00 | Another interesting thing...if you are running XP-Pro, and you have SP-2 installed and up, then you will NOT see Windows XP Professional in the Windows (black) splash screen...the word "Professional" will be missing. | SurferJoe46 (51) | |
2007-01-25 19:26:00 | ^This is the same in XP Home. | pcuser42 (130) | |

2007-01-28 07:08:00 | Ah..we were getting the green bar of sp1 across the screen..then after finally being able to download the sp2 from the net we let it do its thing then got error message event id 4373 windows xp sp2 failed Access is denied! It uninstalled its self then said its partially installed but now may not work properly~!! NOW though we DO get blue bar showing sp2 but it keeps rebooting..tried safe boot to command prompt but its not working!! | jasonwebber (10476) | |
2007-01-29 03:01:00 | Do you have any friends with the SP2 cd-rom? This is the easiest way to get it without any problems...but all this hinges on the age of your original XP install too.... If it's too old and mangled and has a lot of installed programs that left crumbs all over the place, then installing SP2 at this late date is gonna be hard. If Sasser or Blaster are in the system (very likely by now), then SP2 is gonna botch up for sure.
