| 518608 | 2007-01-23 19:42:00 | Interesting, unfortunately I can't use any registry hack to force the Aero theme to work. They might have disabled it cause my Radeon 9250 is really crap. |

| 518611 | 2007-01-23 20:08:00 | This may be why the SP is coming so quickly. From this Computerword article (computerworld.co.nz) Microsoft eventually pledged to create a set of APIs (application programming interfaces) that would give the security vendors access to the kernel-level computing resources they require. Those APIs are expected to be included in the first service pack for Windows Vista. |

| 518613 | 2007-01-23 21:40:00 | Its not even in stores yet & there is a SP! There goes my idea of waiting in till after the first SP for vista to upgrade, now I have to make it the 2nd or 3rd SP. |

| 518615 | 2007-01-24 03:30:00 | At the end of the day, if they're providing more 'continuous' and regular updates that arent just bug-fixes, then they're learning a thing or two from Linux and good on them! I have to disagree Chill. This OS is supposed to be ready for enterprise, SOHO and home users... well they'll be paying over money for it, whereas Linux distros whether in development or not don't cost you 300+ smackers for the privilege. What they are doing, IMO, is the usual MS trick of requiring their paying customers to be beta testers, though this looks to be worse than usual. i.e. the SP is a major component of an unfinished OS (ACPI looks pretty munted from the linked list, to name but one issue). Vista has been released ayear early IMO. |
