518623 2007-01-23 19:45:00 Hmm looks fine to me, altho it looks a bit small. Close browser/s first.

You can tick these entries

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [0102511169527942mcinstcleanup] C:\DOCUME~1\Kidz\LOCALS~1\Temp\010251~1.EXE

C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\McAfee\INSTAL~1\cleanup.ini -cleanup -nolog

It maybe Mcafees thats causing the prob.

Then reboot.

I would also install a firewall.

Also unzip the hijackthis zip file before u run it.

Run IE and reset it settings under the advanced tab.

AVG isnt a firewall? If Avg isnt and I'm having trouble installing McAfee via cd-disc and or McAfee online Install(Still waiting for them to resolve why McAfee want install via disc or online install)

You say McAfee maybe the trouble?
This is the family computer,I had to reformatte,so maybe thats why the hjt is small?

518626 2007-01-25 05:05:00 AVG isnt a firewall?

Umm nope, not unless its AVG with firewall. I think you've only got the AV not the AV and firewall.

Umm HOW did u format?? Did u install XP over XP?? It sounds like u did this.

If u formatted (did a clean install), it should have formatted and wiped Mcafees from the system. And the Mcafee's entries in the previous HJT shouldn't have been there.

I take it, IE is still having probs, even after u ticked the Mcafee entries?

518628 2007-01-25 06:07:00 Well the Mcafee entry wont be there now, since u ticked the entry in the previous HJT log / post and its gone .

But if u formatted AFTER u uninstalled Mcafee's (did u go to add/remove programs and uninstall Mcaffe's, NOT delete its folder)??

That entry from Mcafee's shouldn't have been in the log you posted .
