Could be the cable or a setting somewhere. What r u on? Dialup? ADSL?

If dialup double click on the LAN icon on the taskbar /properties / general tab.
TCP/IP . Whats on it? Obtain an IP or use the following ip address?

If the 2nd what have u typed in?

518632 2007-01-25 08:22:00 Well it cant be a firewall, unless XP's firewall is stopping things. If it's on.

Check in program files and see if the Mcafees folder is still there, if it is delete it.

Was Mcafee's a firewall too?? Or just an AV program?

Then, if u have ccleaner run it and click on issues / scan for issues.

Remove anything that comes up.

If that doesn't fix, if u have a router or something that could be causing the prob.

I take it you're using a router, or a hub?
