518289 2007-01-22 07:35:00 There was a free cd/dvd program around, I just cant remember the name of it. CDburnerSE or something.CdBurnerXP Greg (193)
518290 2007-01-22 07:43:00 Um is Nero installed? If it is u cant just copy it to a cd and put it on the laptop, it wont work. But if u mean the install file is on the desktop, if u CAN copy it to a cd, and finalise it then put it on the laptop it shouldn't be a prob.

I take it the Nero on the desktop is what u downloaded?? Not an OEM version you had already and it came with the desktop?

Coz an OEM version, even if u copied it to cd and put it on the laptop it will install BUT won't work, since its tied to the burner it came with.

Unless u change the serial #.

Okay. Tks. Sounded like it would be too easy! Twas already installed when I got it.

518292 2007-01-22 07:52:00 Does any Sonic app on your laptop recognise -r DVDs?

It was Toshiba's choice to bundle Sonic so the assumption is that it should work.

I have used it and as far as I am concerned it is superior to Nero (much more reliable).

It doesn't really matter whether this is ticked or not.

You can turn XP's burning off completely. It's got nothing to do with using another burning program, if ones installed.

You'll still be able to use any other burning program to burn whatever to cd or dvd.
