519001 2007-01-24 23:50:00 My laptop has a 60GB HDD . It is partitioned into a traditional C:\ drive (for the OS and applications) and a D:\ drive (for data/documents) .

Of late I have had to increase the size of the C:\ partition from 30GB to 35GB and last night to 43GB . I have not been installing additional programs, my temp files are regularly deleted, but SOMETHING is eating up space on my C:\ drive .

This morning my available space on C:\ has gone from 3 . 3GB to 2 . 92GB and all I have been doing in browsing PressF1 and recieving the odd email .

Zonealarm Security Suite is on all the time and is up to date .

Any ideas?

Are there any tools that will allow easy analysis of this situation?

519004 2007-01-25 00:31:00 System Restore can take up considerable space if you've got it enabled.

Use Disk Cleanup (Start > Run > cleanmgr) and click on the 'More Options' tab and choose to clear all system restore points apart from the most recent one.

519007 2007-01-25 00:41:00 System Restore will only grow if you are installing applications!, something else is taking hard drive space. SolMiester (139)

Its free and a great little tool to quickly see whats using how much space.
Not as good as latest version, but for a freebee, not too bad.
