518790 2007-01-24 03:50:00 When I turn on the PC it shows below mentioned error,

"Alert! Cover was Previosly removed"

Disk error
Press any Key to restart



when press a key it shows the same error .

"Disk error"
"Proess any kiey to reastart"



I reastart the computer a few times but the errorr is same .



Is there any way of getting out of this problem

518792 2007-01-24 04:00:00 Remove your front case cover, check and ensure that the Harddisk cables, (both the power and data) are connect securely, then restart.

BTW have you added or removed any hardware just before that?

518793 2007-01-24 04:47:00 Looks like it has something to do with the chassis intrusion option / jumper / switch on some systems .

Look for a setting in the BIOS called chassis intrusion .

And disable it .

518794 2007-01-24 05:03:00 I have had similar problems recently and I think it is due to a flat CMOS battery. Every few days I will get the "Disk Error - Press any key to restart" message and I eventually traced it to the startup sequence in my BIOS having changed (as well as the sequence of my HDD's, so that my boot drive was no longer first in the list of HDD's. Correcting the order would get me in, but the same situation would recur a few days later. Eventually I got a clock error message which confirmed in my mind that it was the CMOS battery, though I haven't yet changed it. Miami Steve (2128)
