| 518425 | 2007-01-23 00:08:00 | Experiencing xtra slow downloads since yesterday evening. Speed fluctuates from as slow as 40 kbps (like dial-up) to 2.4 mbps. Phoned Xtra helpdesk 3 times and as usual, asked me to do a speed test but I think it is a mere waste of my time. 1. Am I the only one who is having this speed issue? I'm on Go Large. 2. How to 'tackle' them when they ask me to do a speed test? Knowing that will not help. Getting a little impatient but can't do much about it. Cheers |

Nope, all Go Large users have the same problem, do a search of PressF1 I use to get 400 KB/s, now I am back to 173.9 KB/sec :( 2. How to 'tackle' them when they ask me to do a speed test? Knowing that will not help.. Just do it & it will keep them ‘Happy’:rolleyes: , plus you then have proof that its there end, not yours so they cant use excuses like its your modem or phone line…. Plus after you do there speed test, you may get what I was getting before: 400KB/s Hope this helps :) & best of luck! |

| 518431 | 2007-01-23 01:24:00 | Hey bk t. Yesterday the Internet connectivity was unreliable as I too experienced constant timeouts throughout the evening. The speed was unbelievably slow (relatively speaking for a dial-up user). The situation got better as midnight approaches yesterday. Cheers :) |

It is a genuine case and I'm just trying to get some ideas as how to deal with Xtra's helpdesk people. I have no intention in any way, to make a troll post in PressF1. Your reply is rather aggresive and offensive. Why not be a little more friendly and polite? What have you got to lose? In order not to stir up any unnecessary flares and waste everytbody's time, this is my last and final exchange of views with you (or any others who think that my post is a troll) as regards this issue, rogerp. As usual, I would like to thank all those who has contributed his/her views to my post. PressF1 is one of the best forum I ever come across and let us keep it that way. Cheers |
