519619 2007-01-27 02:51:00 Hiya guys

You will not believe this - I've actually installed a wireless sytem without any problems, first time. The wife's Toshiba lappie, also shows a wirel ss connection (although I have to admit the damn thing showed "wireless connection is off" and lo and behold, there is this little switch on her lappie that you push and it's on - funny that).

My problem is the following : altho' her lappie is on wireless, it does not want to connect to anything - not updating the AV, nor her school website. I think I saw the problem - on her Explorer, Tools, Internet Options, Lan settings it shows "Proxy.stratford" as the proxy server. The same with the rest - proxy.stratford appearing everywhere. This tells me I should probably leave it at that, and set up a new log in to her XP, without any proxies - and then she can still use the current login at school? Or am I totally daft and there is an easier solution?

Thanks in advance

519620 2007-01-27 02:55:00 I think that'll be the main prob that proxy, just untick it for the time being and then get her to tick it again, when she's at school. Speedy Gonzales (78)

519623 2007-01-27 03:13:00 Under tools / internet options / connections / lan settings.

Or wherever u saw these proxy.stratford entries.

Is it ticked under proxy server? If it is untick it. Once she's at school again tick it, it'll use the proxy again.
