| 519468 | 2007-01-26 23:36:00 | Hey guys just after some pointers or even tutorials on how to design my own online auction website. I'm designing one for work for items we will be auctioning off. I already have a predefined user list from our network (users will just use their current login info) but I don't know where to start with designing the webiste. I've seen a few templates on the web but they don't look exactly the way I want. There's quite a few eBay templates out there but that's what I'm wanting. I would prefer if it was something I could edit or create within Dreamweaver but I'm not too fussy, I'm more than happy to use any other WYSIWYG app. Cheers chiefnz |

How much of your time will it take to put this site together; debug it; sort out the arguments the bugs will cause? (There will be bugs.) Wouldn't it be easier to put a list of items on your intranet and have people email tenders to a special email address? At the advertised date and time, print the offers, sort them into stacks, one for each item, and go through the stacks to look for the highest offer. Computers are wonderful toys. They present an infinite variety of opportunities to do simple things in a slow and inefficient way. |
