519253 2007-01-25 22:30:00 Hi, I've got a big problem with my internet speed. Basically I can only download at no more than 50 KB/sec and web pages are fairly slow to load. I''ve rang up my internet supplier and they say I'm on an 8mb line and I'm getting that (confirmed using a speed test), I've also rang up the line provider and they say that the line is fine (confirmed using their own tests). There is also nothing wrong with the wiring in my house and I am also the first point on the line so there's not exactly a great loss by the time it gets to me. So the only thing I can think of is my router (Netgear 100Mb capacity), I've checked router statistics and it says it is recieving 8,124 Kpbs. A wire then goes from my router into my PC carying the internet, but because I can only download at around 50KB/sec were the hell is the rest of my internet going? I'm just really looking for adivce on what might be causing such a loss of internet. Thanks.

519255 2007-01-25 23:03:00 Who is Your ISP & what plan are you on? stu161204 (123)
519256 2007-01-26 16:02:00 I live in England and I was downloading from a British server, but even if I was downloading from an international server the amount of internet I'm losing is just ridiculas.

My ISP is a British company called Tiscali, and I am on the package Tiscali Max which allows me to get up to 8MB (not so max in this case lol)
