519464 2007-01-26 21:54:00 Hi,

Anyone here have a good source of paper (glossy and normal) for laser printers? I'm having a hard time finding anything suitable. It all seems to be for inkjets.

Regards

Yes it's for inkjets but it will work fine with "lasers"

519466 2007-01-27 02:37:00 Ink jet printers are fussy about their paper, because the ink has to be dried somehow. Different inks need different papers. Some rely on being absorbed "enough" by the paper. If the paper is too absorbent, you get spreading and a blurred effect.

"Laser" printers are much less fussy, because the toner is "ironed" on with a heated roller. It is actually melted so that it sticks to the paper. The only paper which won't work very well is a textured one. The roller can't melt toner in the depressions. ;)

Plastic (transparencies) are very critical. The inkjet and "laser" types are very different. Inkjet transparencies might melt in a laser printer. This could destroy the printer. Inkjet ink might not stick to laser transparencies.
