| 1411032 | 2015-11-06 02:19:00 | Have just purchased a new HP Laptop running Windows 10 So am going to set up my email account on Outlook 2007, easy isn't it! Follow the online instructions on Telecom (AKA Spark) web page and every thing will be sweet. WRONG.......... After over 48 hours I have followed these instructions religiously, time after time only to find when I get to the final page and am advised to 'test account settings' after a pause I get another window which asks me to enter my user name and password which I do but the window keeps opening again and again Eventually got through to Telecom (AKA Spark) and after a long wait was told that Windows 10 does not recognise the protocol (POP.3 ?) that is used and it is a problem for Microsoft to fix. They kindly? patched me through to Microsoft and after being shuffled around various department was told that as my edition of Office (2007) was out of warranty they would have to charge me for any fix and at that stage I went into the garage and banged my head on the wall and am now feeling much better. Is all the above bullsh@t or is there an easy solution, other than buying the latest version off Office? I would welcome any solutions or comments Alan |

| 1411033 | 2015-11-06 02:27:00 | I had the same problem with Windows 10. I am now using Forte Agent which handles all types of Email & News groups. You could use Thunderbird as well. I wouldn't waste money on MS Office. Open Office is free and does everything MS Office does, and more. |

| 1411034 | 2015-11-06 02:47:00 | Windows 10 even on a fresh or new install shop is nearly always broken :ban Try this -- Right click the start button/ Click Command prompt(Admin) type in sfc /scannow <press Enter> Once it completes it may ( mostly does) say its found problems and has fixed them, reboot( dont have to but hey why the hell not) :D Then try the program again. Windows 10 does not recognise the protocol (POP.3 Who ever told you that - Thats total BS !!!! Even the latest W10 Inbuilt Mail App has the option for pop. pop3 accounts work perfectly fine. Shoot - set enough of them up on W10 :) There was a stage that Outlook 2007 Was to old and While all the other office programs worked Outlooks 2007 problem was it wouldn't hold the User Name or Password. ALSO -- make sure you first apply at least Service Pack 3 for Office 2007, as it will have fixes, run windows updates manually and all the updates will come through, including Office. |

| 1411035 | 2015-11-06 02:53:00 | it's all BS, Outlook 2007 does not change how it works based on what version of windows you install it on. And windows 10 is working just fine on POP3 with the default E-mail app for me at home. The modern E-mail app is a little simplistic but works well enough for just reading e-mails - and lets me set up all 3 of my accounts 2 of which are xtra e-mail accounts and working fine. Your original problem sounds suspiciously like the user name or password is wrong although I think I've heard of that issue being caused by something else.Make sure you can log into the web mail with the user name and password you are using (or just use webmail, it's a thought)login.yahoo.com Otherwise you could just try a different client as suggested, Live mail works well as does thunderbird as already mentioned. You could also try the default mail app and see if you like/hate it. On the webmail front if you don't like the yahoo page and have a Gmail account you can add other E-mail accounts to Gmail and access them through the Gmail web portal as well. Lot's of free options. |
