| 1403935 | 2015-06-30 02:01:00 | Decided to format this last night with the DVD. Then noticed the only language it had was UK. I've only just noticed this. So tried an 8.1 ISO. It gave me more options (US was default) Then I noticed after installing Win8 (I'm using a dual band USB adapter). I had to update the driver for this, since the driver Win8 installs wont let me connect to the 5 ghz connection. But, no matter how many times I installed the Tplink driver, Win8 either changed it back to the installed driver or the mediatek driver (thru windowsupdate, even tho I selected NOT to install automatically during setup). Because both of them wont give me the option to connect to 5 ghz. Anyway, doing the same thing in 8.1, it didnt change the bloody driver all the time lol. And it didnt die while I was checking for updates (it did in Win8 - the wireless in the taskbar kept getting an X (because it kept going back / reinstalling the default driver) So why would the 8 dvd install be different from the 8.1 install? And what would make the drivers go back to the installed drivers in Win 8 (even tho I had updated them to the Tplink drivers) Man it was so annoying last night trying to update Win8, when the wireless kept disconnecting because the drivers kept rolling back to the default / install drivers |
