1403191 2015-06-19 23:10:00 It's been a while since I bought a monitor - last one was a 21" Viewsonic CRT. Which brand would you folks recommend these days? I'm after an approx 21", something budget but with at least an HDMI port, for my desktop.

[Edit] Nevermind... I found a Samsung model within my specifications and price range. Thanks anyway.

1403192 2015-06-20 00:02:00 Only prob with some Samsungs are the options (if the button is in the middle on the front), they're hard to get to / or use.

I had to install Samsung Magic tunepremium so I could change the settings. Which is a lot easier

1403193 2015-06-20 00:31:00 Viewsonic are still good brands, even more so now since they have extend their warranty to 4 years ( most others are still 3 year) wainuitech (129)

1403195 2015-06-20 01:15:00 Welllllllllll I've sold lots of Viewsonics over the last 13 years, (Dont know how many off hand, easily over 200) only had to replace 3 from failures ( from memory) , mostly dead or bright/Stuck pixels.
My own Viewsonics at the moment are going on 8 years old and all perfectly fine. Including the 32" TV, which developed a stuck pixel after 5 years, but you have to know where it is and be right up against the screen and looking for it to find it, take 1 step back and you cant see it.

1403197 2015-06-20 10:16:00 With all Monitors it is recommended to watch the side without ventilation slots or a mounting device in the middle. ;) R2x1 (4628)
1403198 2015-06-20 21:44:00 I'm running a Phillips of at least 9 years of age and a Dell of unknown age (I got it off trademe), Wife is running a Samsung which is about the same age as the Phillips and I have a Viewsonic as a spare I picked p for $2 which has an issue of not always turning on necessitating a reboot off the computer and wiggling the VGA cable to get it to turn on. gary67 (56)
1403199 2015-06-21 00:48:00 I bought an Acer 5 years ago, against thinking on here, but couldn't wish for better

I was hoping it would fail so that I could get a nice 28" screen.
