1402579 2015-06-12 22:56:00 I recently flew to Perth and back on an AirNZ Dreamliner, but sadly we didn't take off like that! I bet the pilots in this film were like the guy riding the atom bomb to Earth in Dr Strangelove!

Those wings are a veritable work of art.

1402581 2015-06-13 01:59:00 Wow, it was good to see that again - thanks! I hope I haven't hijacked the thread, but I was imagining those pilots yeeha(ing) all the way up to levelling off altitude. John H (8)
1402582 2015-06-13 09:47:00 Those wings are a veritable work of art.

A Boeing design hallmark - functionality as well as aesthetically beautiful. :clap

Thanks Lawrence

1402583 2015-06-13 10:47:00 I'd like to see that takeoff from a different angle - so the camera tricks aren't so great :) Zippity (58)
1402584 2015-06-13 11:26:00 I'd like to see that takeoff from a different angle - so the camera tricks aren't so great :) No camera tricks at all-- Very simple, Look at whats stationary - THE GROUND - Look at the markings on the runway, the distance between when it starts to rotate and then level off, if you know the length of the center line markings you can work out the angle.

Wait till the real Paris show, there should be several other videos, no doubt on youtube from different angles.

1402585 2015-06-13 12:08:00 Regardless of the above, we are still not presented with a true appreciation of the real angle of climb......... Zippity (58)

1402587 2015-06-18 21:35:00 Heres another Video from the Paris Airshow -- 20 seconds in the 787 doing the same take off from a different angle. Wouldn't want to have drinks in hand during takeoff :)
