1403578 2015-06-25 21:26:00 In a way it reminds me of what I have read about radio in Australia in the early days. The government there wanted total control, and didn't want people to listen to what the government didn't want them to. Heaven forbid that people should turn a tuning knob and find stations, so radio sets were 'sealed' to only allow government approved transmissions..

Needless to say this stupidity didn't last long.

It lasted here as the labor Gov of the day took over all the radio stations except 4XD Dunedin so that you could only listen to Govt run radio unless you have a shortwave set..

1403579 2015-06-25 23:50:00 Mike Hosking has been ranting about global mode lately, on his TV & Radio shows saying its stealing, immoral. (not disagreeing with him)

And yet this morning, on his radio show, he admitted NZ Netfix is lacking content & his wife also this morning publicly said his househould
will be going over to global mode & US Netfix (much to his embarrassment) :devil

It would then be a bidding war between TV3 & TV1/2 for broadcast rights .
Or perhaps, eventually, some online streaming service ? It could all go Pay Per View for the big matches.

Is Sport the main thing keeping SKY in business ?? Many only subscribe for access to the sport channels .

1403583 2015-06-26 01:01:00 I switched off from Hosking years ago when he appeared on RNZ's Morning Report as a frenetic, ranting side kick to Geoff Robinson.
In fact he was so bad I didn't switch on Morning Report until he left.

1403584 2015-06-26 01:12:00 Hosking isnt afraid to ask the awkward questions during interviews , thats why I quite like him .
His & Paul Henries right leaning make it a more entertaining show , they arnt afraid to ignore PC nonsense and poke some fun.

1403585 2015-06-26 03:52:00 Awkward questions, but never against his sponsor, ShonKey.

A right rich pryck, no doubt about it.

Hopefully nobody, and it can eventually go back to being sport.
