So why not try something differnent ? why not have an incentive for them to get a license when caught, rather than a fine that wont get paid. Race based legal system eh: Maori & PI's are more likely to get jail time than whites for the same offense no one here is up in arms, shouting from the rooftops about that Rich white offenders & sports stars are more likely to get away with their crimes , so dont start on that this is now all unfair to whites, or the law should be 1 law for all. Never has been . And since when was this a National govt policy ?? It sounds more like a police policy . |

You see it all the time on road cops. No point in handing fine to repeat offenders. Cops on the show give compliance. Better chance of fixing problem if person hasn't been stung with fine. If this new approach doesn't work can it,if it does trial it else where. Trying the same thing expecting different results doesn't work. Oh I'm against rave based policy. | plod (107) | ||
| 1402829 | 2015-06-17 01:14:00 | Hard to know too, if cops are targeting select types (including race) when setting up these check points (Cp's). In over 35 years I have never seen cops set up: 1. CP's around learning insttitutions in Otara/Manukau. Two of the countries largest tertiary instutions reside here. AUT and MIT, including their home stays. Plus numerous job search training institutes. Most students - and I know - I see them daily are white or Asian/indian/FJ-Indians. Never see them set up in the massive shopping come student car parks. Since early 70's. 2. Never seen seen cops set up around the vastly affluent and adjacent suburbs. Botany, Dannemora, Howick, Cockle Bay. Some licensed certain ethnic drivers from those areas I don't trust for driving. They have been reported for killing/harming NZ's in driving accidents. Not even drugged or drunk. |

Like you did in #16? :p Back to the point, police discretion on this isn't new, but the way this was worded makes it sound like discretion is now expected to be applied to those of a certain race - which is racist and should be stamped out, like all racism. |
