1411181 2015-11-11 20:02:00 What AV are you using ? If its Eset disable the Anti-Theft, as its reported it can sometimes create those accounts, but personally never had it happen

1411182 2015-11-11 23:15:00 Thanks wainuitech that's a big help this pc does have Eset on it and this will be the cause see below

ESET Anti-Theft has recorded suspicious activity on your device OEM-PC. Someone has logged on the device using the Phantom Account. If you don't know the location of the device, sign in to your my.eset.com account at https://anti-theft.eset.com and confirm it as Missing. ESET Anti-Theft will start monitoring the activity on the device to help you find out its position.

I think i will leave the registry edit option at this stage.

Thanks again for your help much appreciated

1411184 2015-11-12 07:49:00 I've got a similar ghost account on my Win10 (Home) laptop. I have ESET and used the Anti-Theft set up, however it asked me to create the dummy account with a real sounding 'fake' name which I did. I also ended up with another account of rohhyyqnub.

I gave up trying to get rid of it. :badpc:

1411185 2015-11-12 08:30:00 Good the cause has been tracked down :)

Just a bit of reading on setting it up and other options support.eset.com

For mobile device Eg: laptops, its not such a bad idea. Password protect the normal account, and as posted anti-theft-phantom-account (malwaretips.com) A good reason as well.

SMILE Jen - your on CAM :D

Would be a good idea for the Phones, anti-theft.eset.com (https:) Hands up how many have lost a phone only to find its in your car or left at work  ( closest to hands up) support.eset.com
