| 1411376 | 2015-11-14 05:20:00 | Hi All. Maryann's W10 laptop has thrown a wobbly. How do I get into safe mode to try a system restore. When she starts the m/c it does not do so properly so I thought doing this in safe mode might work. Thanks. PJ |

Note: you cant usually use F8 because of the UEFI BIOS settings, changing them wont allow it to boot: Make sure the laptop is turned off. Press the power button to turn on, give it a few seconds, then press and hold down the Power Button to turn off again. Repeat above usually 3 times. On the forth ( sometimes third) Windows decides its broken on the startup, and then boots into recovery mode. Select Trouble shooting / Advanced options / Startup settings / Then click restart bottom right, on reboot it will boot and give options, you press the number key you want 6814 BUT you dont need to go into safe mode. In the Advanced options is the system Restore option. 6815 |
