2007-01-29 18:00:00 | One possible way to check, is to load the page, and while it's still stalling view the Page Info (not Page Source). Make a note of all the content (or take screenshots). Then force reload of the page but wait, forever if necessary, for it to load fully. Then view Page Info again. Then compare the two lots of content, and what the first one is missing compared to the second one - there's your culprit. Caution: requires patience! :D

2007-01-29 19:54:00 | And if u have Avast installed terminate webshield, as this scans every site u go to. And most probably doesn't help things. I just terminated it and before I had a chance to watch it crawl, it moved like a speeding bullet.

2007-01-29 21:42:00 | OK....I'm gonna chuck my :2cents: in here too..... I agree PF1 seems much slower of late. I'm presently at work (coffee break, so much for cutting down :D ) and we have a pretty quick internet connection thing going on, and pages just appear when a link is clicked. But lately, PF1 (and only PF1) seems to be taking ages. I'm more concious of this at work, coz 'net usage is monitored. I note comments about stuff on pages causing delays, but I also look at Airliners.net, which is chokka of photos etc, and that loads in no time. Anyway's, back to work. T PS: 38secs from when I click on "Preview Post" to seeing page again???

2007-01-30 01:10:00 | Everything server side is done before the page is even sent, so you would see nothing before that would happen (that could be different under some circumstances, but I don't think VBul is like that...). My best guess is like earlier said, some kind of invisible thing or maybe an add taking a while to load... | CorbinH (37) | |
2007-01-30 01:20:00 | Speedy before i go and check avast . . . . . . . . . . . . . . can you explain what webshield is first or what it does and if i dont need it why is it there? :illogical Anyway Allblack any time is good for coffee . . . . . . . :p beetle You don't need it . It maybe running by default . Until u terminate the service thru Avast . I dont know if its in the free and Pro version . But its in the Pro version . But if u right mouse on the a icon on Avast's icon / select on-access protection control . See if webshield is there and running . Well I think it only scans while you're browsing . It'll also scan files u download . Which is good coz it'll pick up nasties, while u download (well even if its off u can scan the file after u download it) . But, I would say it'll slow u down everytime u use a browser . It doesn't matter what browser you're using . Like in Avast Pro there's 8 Providers u can start/stop . (Webshield, IM, Internet Mail, Outlook/Exchange, Scriptblocking, Network Shield, P2P, and Standard Shield) . I've killed webshield, P2P (since I dont use it) Outlook (since I just use Poptray, and its most probably spam which will get deleted) . I could kill IM since I don't really use IM programs .
