520902 2007-01-31 00:35:00 When the monitor goes off does the computer shut down as well?

If it does, it maybe overheating.

Open the side of the case and see if the fans are spinning and see if it takes longer to turn off.

520905 2007-02-01 07:56:00 Have you tried going into the BIOS (Setup) screen during startup and seeing if it happens there? Jen (38)
520906 2007-02-01 20:33:00 The problems has been happening for about 7 days now. How do I enter the bios dfuring start up and what do I look for. JNBriscoe (11838)
520907 2007-02-01 21:12:00 During startup as the text system information first shows (POST), you should see a message across the bottom which says push a certain key to enter setup. Often this is the DEL key, but could be F10 or other keys. The message will only be shown for a few seconds so be quick and start tapping that key as soon as you see that message. This will get you access to the BIOS configuration. You do not need to touch anything here, but just leave it on that page for 10 minutes or so to see if the monitor goes blank here as well. Make sure you exit out of the BIOS without making/saving any changes.

The BIOS is not part of Windows, so if your monitor does its thing here as well this indicates a hardware fault, probably with the video card or cable as opposed to a driver/setting problem under Windows.
