| 520701 | 2007-01-30 16:42:00 | Hi, I know this isn't really a PC problem but I didn't know any other place to ask. But I was just wondering whether you had to use Apple's Itunes to transfer music, video's and photo's onto your Ipod. Or if you could add them directly to the folders stored in the memory/hard drive? More of a clarification this but it is MP4 format that Apples Ipod uses for movies isn't it? Thanks. ~Tracer-Bullet |

| 520703 | 2007-01-30 19:31:00 | Copying media files manually to your iPod's HD via the desktop, won't give the iPod player software access to those files. The iPod also works as a portabale HD but also has invisible folders for the iPod player software. AFAIK. | teszeract (8723) | ||

Thanks. ~Tracer-Bullet AKAIK, no, you have to use itunes/winamp... which is silly really as every other mp3 player can handle being loaded full of files from the desktop. iTunes will automatically synch music and videos on your PC with your iPod, you can also set folders manually with iTunes. now that didn't actually answer the question, did it? oh, and again, AFAIK, yes ipod (only?) plays mp4 video |
