520416 2007-01-29 20:03:00 The temp in my computer rises from 24 deg to 46 deg within an hour. Tha fan is working properly and there is no dust. I have replaced the 350 watt power supply with a 430 watt supply. What is the critical level.
Thanks
Eddie

520417 2007-01-29 20:07:00 Most probably 50-55.

You'll know if it gets to high/hot. It'll most probably turn the system off to save the CPU from being fried.

I have replaced the 350 watt power supply with a 430 watt supply. What is the critical level. My PC has been on for about an hour this morning, CPU temp is currently around 44. I wouldn't worry about it. I think usually the critical levels are much higher.

520419 2007-01-29 20:48:00 Quite a few BIOS's i have seen set the shutdown temp at 70 degrees borax (7078)
520420 2007-01-29 20:48:00 depends on what temp your refeering to.
eg case/mobo, cpu, hardrive etc.

if cpu max temp depends on what cpu it is.

imho case temp is a much more commanly overlooked aera and it effects just about everything in the pc.

520421 2007-01-29 20:56:00 Heh, my CPU sits at 30°C idle and upto 50°C max and that is an overclocked Athlon X2 4400+.

It all really depends on what the CPU actually is, older ones ran hotter, Pentiums run hotter than AMDs

IIRC the Athlon XPs ran at 70°C idle, max was 90°C... so there is no problem

520422 2007-01-30 00:02:00 it also depends on airflow thru and around the box........try running it with the side of temporarily to see what happens...... drcspy (146)
520423 2007-01-30 02:27:00 it also depends on airflow thru and around the box........try running it with the side of temporarily to see what happens...... If I do that my temps increase by atleast 5°C all round due to the fans not being able to keep the flow going properly and the air just sits a lot more than with the side on... 520424 2007-01-30 03:47:00 i have anthlon xp 2000+ idles at about 60
use to idle at 65 at summer before i cleaned the dust out

search here (www.3degs.net)
just type in your temperature and see if someone with the same CPU has your temp
i guess if many people also share the same CPU and temp as you
then you're probably fine
