| 521124 | 2007-02-01 19:45:00 | If it's an OEM CD (you can tell, because on the CD it will say something along the lones of 'To be installed on a New PC'), then the important bit is not the actual CD, but the sticker that should be attached to the computer it was originally installed on. Without the sticker, you do not have the rights to install Windows, even if you have a legit CD. | trig42 (11325) | ||
| 521125 | 2007-02-02 09:46:00 | seems the CD i got is a SCRAP of waste as i LOST my key and havent got any DOCUMENTS regarding its purchase | blackhat (11683) | ||
| 521126 | 2007-02-02 14:52:00 | Well, don't toss it away...it is still usable if you ever get a legal key for it.....it's always useful for times when you need to make a repair or full install...... ......as there's some files on it that you can use in the future without the key if you want to "save-with-replace" a busted file on any version of XP. |

| 521129 | 2007-07-31 04:19:00 | Hi there, I had a similar problem. My laptop got stolen and i have the original WinXP CD but no CD key as it was on the bottom of my laptop. I recently got a new laptop and want to use this CD. But when i rang MS they said they couldnt give me a replacement CD key. My other Probelm is that my replacement Laptop is an HP and HP dont give the XP CD when you get the laptop you have to make a stupid recovery disk. does anyone know of a way around this. because i can not use the latest drivers for my graphics card unless it is from the HP website which are so out of date. Cheers XP Lover. |
