521990 2007-02-02 22:59:00 Hi there

I have converted a short mp3 file to aac format and transferred it to my mobile phone (Sanyo 5600) to use as a text alert. Because it is such a short file (3 seconds long), my phone keeps looping it for 30 seconds. It does this with its standard text tones too, regardless of whether you have the alert set to "repeat" or "once".

So I figure if I add some silence to the end of the aac file (maybe 20 seconds), then it won't be able to loop the tone. Does anyone know of any free software that will add silence to the end of audio files? (I used itunes to convert the file from mp3 to aac).

Thanks for your help.

521992 2007-02-03 03:02:00 You could use windows sound recorder as a sound editor. Play the file on iTunes and record with sound recorder, record 20 sec of silence, save, then convert back to .aac. You can set sound quality within sound recorder.
That should be easy enough.
