521982 2007-02-02 21:37:00 The brand name is mp4, and I only use the front usb ports and not the other ones...XP tries to loads the driver for it and comes up as unknown device but is verified...as it shows up as a removable drive on my pc I cant add files to it....(It looks identical to the ipod nano) Mr Wetzyl (362)

521984 2007-02-02 21:40:00 I would try the USB ports on the back as I have seen some of cheap cases with dodgey front USB ports. CYaBro (73)

521986 2007-02-02 21:48:00 Mp4 is a video file isn't it?

Maybe it needs drivers/software to communicate with the device properly.

Have you got quicktime installed on your computer?

521987 2007-02-02 21:52:00 MP4 is video, but the Video Ipod also use this format, and they work fine.

Without installing drivers. XP picks it up no prob.

QT doesn't have to be installed to xfer MP4 to something that supports it.
