2007-02-02 01:53:00 | dead (blogs.pcworld.co.nz). How unprofessional. Do we hold you personally responsible for things PCWorld says and does? Or shall I take this nasty comment as being directly from PCWorld - she might not have been popular but she was just CEO - she wasn't the one and only member of the company.

2007-02-02 03:02:00 | When I heard the announcement at 8:30 this morning I couldn't help think the exact same line. I love the irony in the fact that the linked site ends with the word "live". But before we break out and party in the streets we should wait to hear who the replacement is. According to Radio NZ they were looking for someone "within the company, New Zealand, Australia, or the World" so all those people who are currently off planet need not apply. Lets hope the next "ruler of NZ internet" is more consumer minded.

2007-02-02 03:08:00 | ...she might not have been popular but she was just CEO - she wasn't the one and only member of the company. Point taken, but as CEO she is charged with ensuring the business progresses foward without putting a) the shareholders, company or its customers at risk. b) the company in disrepute by not doing all he/she can to prevent a) And finally, ensuring that the company does not lose face or lower its goodwill value in the eyes of the general public. Theresa Gattung and the Telecom Board has failed in all these areas. In fact I would go so far as to say that the entire Telecom board of directors should be shot... as they let her make some bad decisions. It is quite obvious that Telecom is driven by money only and this goes from the board all the way down to management. New Zealand is tooo far behind to say that "she was just the CEO"... needn't I remind anyone that New Zealand is behind the rest of the world because of the decisions Theresa Gattung and the Telecom Board have made over the past few years. Are we that gullable that we don't know we're being screwed over!!! If you watched Campbell live this week you would have seen that 96% of NZ broadband customers say they are getting a "rubbish" broadband service (if one can call it that for starters.) Anyone who is foolish enough to think that Telecom is providing the same services to the general public seriously needs to get their head tested, this is regardless of whether you're living in a rural area or not. [/end rant] Cheers chiefnz

Who is this Chris anyway, I don't normally read the mag? |

2007-02-02 07:30:00 | Theresa Gattung did a good interview (speaking frankly about personal stuff) with Mark Sainsbury on TV1's Close Up this evening. I expect it will be on their website.
