| 522787 | 2007-02-05 02:47:00 | I have Win 98 SE and I've lost all my bookmarks and it's not the first time it's happened. Could someone tell me where to find them and also recommend another internet platform other than Firefox please. Many thanks Wendy :dogeye: |

| 522788 | 2007-02-05 03:19:00 | They don't just vanish all by themselves. Did you use a cleaner tool? Or delete something accidentally? Firefox stores your personal settings, such as the bookmarks, cache and web form data, in a profile folder. On Windows XP/2000, the path is usually %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.defaul t\, where xxxxxxxx is a random string of 8 characters. Just browse to C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ and the rest should be obvious. Also you can download a program called MozBackup which will backup the lot, emails, bookmarks, address book etc etc to a location of your choice. Try that too. |

| 522792 | 2007-02-05 06:48:00 | That's what I hate about Firefox. When forcefully shut down (task manager, force restart) it may lose your bookmarks. Don't know why, but is annoying as hell, especially when it first happens as you don't know if you can get it back or not. Other than that, Firefox is great. Haven't tried IE7 though. |

| 522796 | 2007-02-05 10:34:00 | With regards to losing bookmarks, I've used the Foxmarks addon to sync bookmarks between my laptop and my desktop, but it has the added advantage of keeping a copy of your bookmarks in cyberspace.
